Washing Creek Sand: Light Chill Ascends the Small Tower

Qin Guan · Song dynasty

A faint chill steals up into the little tower; the dawn's gloom is willful, as if it were autumn. Pale smoke and flowing water: the painted screen is dim.

The petals that fly so freely are light as a dream; the endless fine rain is thin as sorrow. The fair blind hangs idle from its little silver hook.
