Summer in the Mountains

Li Bai · Tang dynasty

Too relaxed to wave a white feather fan,

I sit bare-chested among the green woods.

I hang my headcloth on the rocky wall,

And let the pine breeze cool my uncovered head.

What the poem means

Relaxing in the green mountains, the poet hardly bothers to wave his feather fan. He hangs his headcloth on a rock and lets the pine breeze cool him. Children can imitate the relaxed feeling while staying dressed.
