深shēn院yuàn静jìng，

小xiǎo庭tíng空kōng，

断duàn续xù寒hán砧zhēn断duàn续xù风fēng。

The deep courtyard is still, the little garden empty; fitfully the cold fulling-block, fitfully the wind.

无wú奈nài夜yè长cháng人rén不bù寐mèi，

数shù声shēng和hé月yuè到dào帘lián栊lóng。

Helpless: the night is long, and I cannot sleep; a few strokes of sound come with the moon to my blind and window.
