Grass fills the pond’s banks; water fills the pool.

山shān衔xián落luò日rì浸jìn寒hán漪yī

Hills hold the setting sun in cool, trembling ripples.

牧mù童tóng归guī去qù横héng牛niú背bèi

The cowherd rides home sideways on his ox,

短duǎn笛dí无wú腔qiāng信xìn口kǒu吹chuī

Playing a short flute with no fixed tune.

诗里说了什么

池边长满青草，池水也满了。落日像被山衔住，映在水波里。牧童横坐牛背慢慢回家，随意吹着没有固定曲调的短笛，傍晚显得轻松。

“陂”这里读 bēi，指池塘；“衔”像嘴含着。“无腔”是没有固定曲调，“信口”是随口。
