About Poetry Buds: Chinese Poetry for Families
By Jiang Xiaobei · Updated 26 October 2026
What is Poetry Buds?
Poetry Buds is a Chinese poetry and parent–child activity resource for families with children aged 2–5. Created and narrated by professional Mandarin voice actor Jiang Xiaobei, it combines readings with music, voice-only repeat-along tracks, pinyin, games and printable workbooks. English parent guides support bilingual families and parents who do not speak Chinese.
Who creates and records the lessons?
Jiang Xiaobei creates and produces Poetry Buds and records the Mandarin readings himself. He is a professional voice actor, voice-over teacher and father, with over a decade of film, television and documentary work and long-standing collaborations across several CCTV channels. His role here is creator and narrator.
Who can use it, and what does it cover?
Poetry Buds supports Chinese-heritage, bilingual and non-Mandarin-speaking families. Series 01 is designed around ages 2–3 and 4–5, with 120 poems in 12 thematic units. It provides poetry listening and parent–child activities; families seeking a full language curriculum or live tutoring should compare those options separately.
