Pure and Peaceful Music: Small Characters on Red Paper

Yan Shu · Song dynasty

Small characters upon the red paper have told all the feelings of a lifetime. The wild goose is in the clouds, the fish is in the water; and sadly, this feeling is hard to send.

In the slanting sun I lean alone upon the west tower; the far hills face the curtain-hook. I know not where that face has gone — only the green waves still flow east.
