更漏子·柳丝长
柳丝长，
春雨细，
花外漏声迢递。
惊塞雁，
起城乌，
画屏金鹧鸪。
The willow strands are long, the spring rain fine; beyond the flowers the water-clock drips, far and faint. It startles the frontier geese and rouses the city crows; golden partridges adorn the painted screen.
香雾薄，
透帘幕，
惆怅谢家池阁。
红烛背，
绣帘垂，
梦长君不知。
The scented mist is thin, and pierces the curtain and the blind: I am melancholy by the pool and pavilion of a woman’s residence. The red candle turned away, the embroidered blind hangs low; the dream is long, and you know nothing of it.

“塞雁”的“塞”读sài；“香雾薄”的“薄”取文读bó。画屏金鹧鸪是屏上图案，不是被漏声惊起的活鸟。“谢家”在这里常借指女子居处，不据此认定为谢氏真实宅第。“红烛背”可理解为背向烛光或烛光照不到处；英文保留这一背向意象。
